This is Vox’s entry level wah pedal based on the original Clyde wah developed in the 1960s. Vox 845 is an excellent choice for a first time wah user.
The inductor is the core feature of a wah pedal. The Vox 845 uses an updated Vox/Korg-manufactured L1A inductor. This pedal is hardwire bypass as opposed to most modern wah pedals which are true bypass. In the Hardwire bypass system, guitar is directly connected to the input of the pedal, and only the output signal is switched. It does not add any extra to the signal.
Vox designed the very first wah pedal back in the 1960s, and their new guitar effect quickly became very popular among musicians. This unique tone can be heard on on some of the most famous recordings of all time.
